Bahama Mama Surfsuit | Peek-A-Boo Patterns

Swim season is right around the corner.
In our case, we're headed faster than most because we hit warm weather pretty early.

So the excitement about the Bahama Mama is real in my house!

A swimsuit and rashguard all in one?!?!  Count us in!

The Bahama Mama comes in three sleeve lengths, cap, short and long sleeve.  All of which are perfect for playing at the river or beach...or just outside in the sun!

The Raglan style sleeve makes assembly quick and easy.

There are two zipper lengths that can be used.  I used a 9" zipper here.  However, a 12" zipper can also be used for ease of access or for nursing moms.

At first Miss. Opinionated Teen was a tad worried about the rear end coverage.  (The "opinionated" was a bit understated in this conversation.)  When I was fitting the muslin, I didn't put in the elastic so the fit wasn't quite the same.  However, the coverage is perfect, just make sure to measure your elastic and your thigh to ensure the elastic isn't going to be too big.
The Bahama Mama Surfsuit can also be made with a few more options:  a shelf bra with cups, with a skirt (SO cute!!) or a rash guard top.

We had the opportunity to take pictures with a wonderful family friend who was also testing the Bahama Mama Surfsuit.  She's been trying to get her hands on this rainbow scale swim fabric I've had stashed away for awhile.  I gave in when I realized how cute they'd both look in photos with matching suits!

Both of these ladies look amazing in their Bahama Mama Surfsuits and I love how fantastic the pattern looks!

Now for the details you've been waiting for:

You can purchase the  BAHAMA MAMA SURFSUIT here

And, all the swim material pictured was purchased through Zenith and Quasar

I LOVE their swim material!  It's great to sew with and is SPF 50!

Until Next Time
