SNOWBALLS....in April?!?!

Snowballs in April?! That's right SNOWBALLS! What better fun is there than a snowball fight, especially when everyone is forced to be inside, or far away from friends during quarantine. So, it's time to make Snowballs! Thankfully, this version of Snowballs aren't cold and can be played with when is super HOT, on a really rainy day, or when it's freezing outside. Even the dogs may want in on the play. Our dogs keep trying to steal our Snowballs from the kids and have made it their personal mission in finding them wherever the kids have hidden them.  A small note of WARNING: Snowballs are only good for the ages of those who can find a ball and put it in their mouth (note I didn't say throw it), to the ripe ol' age of 140...really they are absolutely fantastic for ANYONE!  These have to be the quickest and easiest project with satisfying results. If you are hand sewing your Snowball, follow below. To machine sew your snowball, follow along ...

Autumn Sweater for Women | Halla

{Please note that some of these links are affiliate links.  If you purchase something I have recommended, sewn etc. through those links I will receive a small percentage of compensation.  It helps me support my sewing "therapy" and the ability to review and test more patterns.} I could live in long tunic length tops and leggings.  Somehow though without some serious lengthening of a pattern I rarely get the length I love.  Don't get me wrong, I can lengthen a pattern with the best of them because I have come to face the reality that I'm half giant.  Go ahead and laugh, I'm either half giant or my parents fed me miracle grow when I was little.   Regardless of which is true, I have a REALLY long side waist and even longer legs.   So when I had the opportunity to make the Autumn Sweater by Halla, I jumped on it!   I'm a big fan of comfort and this absolutely falls into the comfort wear category! I have several ...

Mega Meena Hoodie by Max & Meena

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it’s off to sew I go! This test was..... Oh....So....COZY! That’s right folks, with fall setting in; it’s time to embrace the warmth of Hoodies, long sleeves, pants and everything else that comes with the season! So, without further adieu I introduce the  MEGA MEENA HOODIE . This hoodie is AMAZING!  Very rarely do I find a top that I don’t have to alter by adding length in.  And guess what....I didn’t have to add anything to this baby!  I know I’ve said it before, but I’m tall.  The Mega Meena with nothing added is long enough that I feel comfortable wearing it around with just leggings (and I’m not really a legging without a knee length dress kind of a gal).  Seriously, this thing is fabulous!   I know I have a tendency to like the patterns I test, and that could be because I test for the designers I like.  However, this pattern is so comfortable!  Just ask my dog Finn, he and I got a...

Testing: Dill Pickles Tee

The males in my life are getting A LOT of love right now! Pickle Toe Patterns is re-releasing their Dill Pickles Tee   with so many options! The pattern is on sale until Monday, September 18th !  It's not just a regular tee anymore!  We're talking long sleeves, short sleeves (both with banded options!), shirt length or tunic length (again, with banded options...who needs to hem?!?!),  a kangaroo pocket which is ALWAYS a favorite in my house and hood options.  Hood options?  That's right, you can line the hood (I chose that option.  See below pictures), you can hem the hood or you can band the hood!  I LOVE options!  And I love that I can change up each shirt to look different! To make it even better, this is a uni-sex pattern that has from size 2 to 22!  That means it'll fit up to my 15 year-old! That's A LOT of sizes!  To be able to buy one pattern with that many options to fit that many kids is a STEAL! It...
