About Me

Hello! I'm Chaney, and I'm really glad you've decided to stop by. If you're here, you've either just happened upon my blog, which in that case...WELCOME! Or, you are here because you're wanting to read more about the clothing I've made and posted somewhere about. And again, WELCOME!

I have always been interested in the craftier side of life, especially after spending my younger years watching my mom create so many beautiful crafts and clothes. I first tried my hand at sewing in middle school at the with a 4H project, and wasn't exactly successful. I didn't give up, but didn't really start enjoying sewing until I was in college.

I had a love hate relationship with patterns. I loved sewing, but hated the patterns. So, when I found pdf patterns I started sewing with earnest. I test patterns for quite a few Indie Pattern Designers, Brand Rep for several, and am on the Promo team for a fabric company.

I also have the pleasure of teaching sewing to 4th - 12th graders at a local school, and I work full time as Pattern Editor with the amazing team at Rebecca Page Patterns.

Something I really love about the Indie sewing scene is the movement toward size inclusiveness the designers are moving toward. I try my very hardest to support those designers.

Colors...particularly the Rainbow...yes, it's a color! Along with anything that has glitter on it is my very favorite to wear. More often than not I have some sort of bright color on. I don't just sew for myself. I routinely sew for my husband, teen daughter, two teen sons and not yet teen daughter. I occasionally throw in my friends or their kids as the need arises.

I also collaborate with the House of Curves. We are a blogger collaborative of curvy and plus size bloggers. You should really check out everything we are up to over at House of Curves.
