Kourtney Knot by Made for Mermaids

The Kourtney Knot Pattern by Made for Mermaids has achieved Rock Star Status in my home this last week!
So much, that I will be including the following warning label on the manila envelope I store the pattern in :

WARNING:  The Kourtney Knot Top, Tunic & Dress MAY (READ:  WILL) cause Dancing!
Your child may not be able to control the need to dance.

When I was choosing which options to test, I had Miss. Thang look at both the pocket and the knot, and she decided she needed both.

I'm blaming the Knot for the dancing.  It brings out a sassy side that has the desire to move.....A LOT!

The moment Miss. Thang stepped out of the car to take pictures, she started dancing.  She tried her very hardest to stifle that dancing, but then the Chicken Dance escaped.  After that happened, her sister and I embraced the dancing and joined in.  I'm sure we all looked a tad crazy!
I was so grateful for my camera's ability to do continuous shooting!
Without that feature, I wouldn't have the ability to capture any decent pictures of this girl!

She loved it so much she gave me the picture in the lower right corner of her hugging the shirt.  It may appear that she's hugging herself.  But, No; She's hugging her shirt.

At first I wasn't sure how I felt about the knot.  I'm not always at the cutting edge of fashion, but Miss. Thing adored it so I did it.  And, I must say that the Made for Mermaids tutorial on how to do it makes the knot very easy!  Don't be intimidated!  You really can do the knot.  Now, repeat that to yourself.  Go ahead.....I'll wait.

Did you convince yourself that you can do the knot?  You really should try it if you didn't.  I had never done the knot either, and mine turned out pretty darn good if I do say so myself.  And if you look at it, the acorn ended up in the middle of it.  It looks like I planned it!  Ha!  I impress myself!

Now the pocket.....
It adds a fun touch to the Kourtney.
Miss. Thang had to have one.  I really should have done it in a contrasting color so it could be seen better, but I didn't think about it until after I already had it on.  For the next one I make, I won't use quite as patterned of a fabric so that you can see the pocket on it

One of my favorite things about the Kourtney is all of the options.
In reality, the more options a pattern offers, the more likely I am to buy it.
And, this pattern has it all.
Tank top...check,
T Shirt....check
T Shirt with Knot......check
Tunic....check
Tunic with Knot.....check
Dress....check
Dress with Knot.....check

And that's not even including all of the sleeve options or the pocket!
If I were in high school Algebra, I would have figured out all of the different number of combinations you could do.  But really, I'm not that cool.
Sorry.

I made the tunic, and I LOVE the high-low hem line with the knot.
It's such a great touch to the top!
Many times tops lack anything that makes it stand out.
I've always enjoyed people watching, however, since I've started testing patterns I've taken a much bigger interest in the designs of clothes.  So, the fact that the Kourtney has such a great design element is really exciting.

You really REALLY need to add this pattern and ALL of it's options to your collection!

You can get your pattern at the Made for Mermaids site.

Fabric is from Kimmy Snabric
[I purchased this fabric last year during a pre-order.  However they still have it in their shop!]
