Ever since my daughter was teeny tiny, she has had a love for purses.  I like to joke that it's her hoarding tendencies.  She says it's her way of gathering her belongings.

Either way, she adores them.  So, this Reindeer purse made her heart flutter.

Originally she wanted to Unicorn purse.  However, as I was the one sewing we ended up with the Reindeer.

The pattern comes with a piece for the nose.  However, I opted to buy a huge button for the nose and snowflake buttons for the eyes.   So. Stinking. Cute!

I ended up having to put a little bit of fabric behind the snowflakes so that they would stand out against the body fabric.

Though the purse looks tiny, it holds A LOT of stuff!  The day after I made it she took it to church with us and the Reindeer held her scriptures.  I have to say that those things aren't tiny!  It's impressive!

Instead of velcro for a closure, I used a Kam snap.  I situated it behind the button nose and so the snap isn't visible.

The Pirates have given the purse pattern in the Reindeer, Unicorn, Fox and Plain varieties.  They make an adorable, quick gift!  Go check out the Patterns for Pirates Blog for the tutorial, and the pattern pieces are HERE.

And, if you're not part of the Patterns for Pirates Facebook Group you really should be!  The whole group is a fantastic wealth of knowledge and support.  Go join them!
