It's Fall ya'll, and it's about time!  I am beside myself with excitement!  I love a good sweater or sweatshirt, blankets, cups of tea and cuddling with my loved ones.  And because it's fall, that means it's absolutely time to wear sweaters!
So. FREAKING. EXCITED!
Well, I am today because the high is 65.  Before today, it was a tad hot..but I suffered in silence because the brand new Essie Cardigan by Halla is 100% worth every drop of sweat!

As always, the options are outstanding!  Typically I add a cardigan when I'm feeling like staying home or not feeling well.
The Essie though makes me feel cute and dressed up!
The different peplum options are fantastic!  I love the circle peplum, but I also enjoy the kerchief peplum.  They are both flattering and attractive to the eye.

For this Essie I added a belt and loops so I could hold it closed if I felt like it.
I also thought it may be cute if I tied them in the back.  I wasn't wrong, well in my opinion anyway.  I like how the Essie looks tied closed and open with the ties tied in back.

I chose to do short sleeves with this version because sometimes we all need a short sleeved sweater.  Well, that and I had exactly two yards of this amazing hacci sweater knit and because of my height I didn't have enough to make it long sleeve.  I literally had enough to make all of it except the bands on the sleeves.  YAY me!

On a complete tangent...look at the great sunlight my daughter caught on these pictures!  Sometimes it does pay to take early morning pictures....sometimes.  The only time they really happen is during the school year when I actually have to go to work.

This version of the Essie I used Hacci Sweater Knit again and this time I did the kerchief peplum with long sleeves AND, I added a hood!  Soooooo cozy, warm and soft!

That's right, a hood.
Can't find that in the pattern?

That's because it's not there.

 DON'T panic though, because

***Pay attention to this part....it's important if you want the hood***

It will be a separate file which will be in the HallÃ¥ Patterns Sew Alongs with a tutorial. The SAL for the Essie Cardigan will run from 10/11-10/14. The hood pattern piece will remain available in the SAL group.

Feel better?

I thought you would.

Halla never fails to disappoint in the options department!

Not only do you have the option of circle peplum and handkerchief peplums but also...
-straight cut cardigan
-Banded/not banded patch pockets
-In-seam Pockets
-short sleeves (banded or not banded)
-Long sleeves
-short cuffs
-long cuffs
-Waistband
-Waist tie

If I liked math more, I'd give you the total number of combinations you could make with all of them.
Instead, I'll leave you with a final photo of the Hooded, long sleeve, short banded, handkerchief version:
