Sunny Day Top & Dress for Women | Halla

Sometimes pattern testing pushes me outside my comfort zone. Who am I kidding?!?  It pushes me out of my comfort zone on a very regular basis!

 Typically I don't wear clothes that are as form fitting as the Sunny Day Top & Dress.  

That probably seems a tad funny because truthfully it's not that form fitting.  

However, I'm a loose fitting hoodie and leggings type of a gal.  

I LOVE how the Sunny Day...Dress in this occasion...fits me!  

The fit is fantastic.  

I added my typical 3" because the pattern is drafted for 5'5".  I added 1" to the top bodice and 2" to the bottom front; then to the back piece I added a straight 3".  This allowed the dress length to hit me right at the knees.

Originally I was going to make the front bottom and the back the same color and then do the top bodice and sleeves the solid coral color.  However I've noticed in my area, clothes have started to be a little bit more like my dress.  So, I went on a limb and changed up the color blocking.  I really like how well the colors go together and compliment the dress. 

The options on the Sunny Day top & dress are phenomenal!

I chose the straight hemmed knee length, short puff; banded sleeve; no closure on the yoke

The other options are:

~short, 3/4, and long fitted sleeve

~short, 3/4 and long puff sleeve

~knee and above the knee length dress

~regular and tunic length top

~curved or straight hem for all lengths

~yoke ties, pussy bows, or no closure

~all the styles have a turned yoke, gathered front bodice panel, and regular back bodice panel.

So far I've made two Sunny Day's, a top version that I haven't photographed yet and this dress.  However, I see SO many more in my future!  It's an easy sew and the fabric options and combinations are endless!
