Bree | Made for Mermaids

Miss. Thang is growing up a lot faster than Iā€™d like to admit.
About a month ago she started asking for ā€œbrasā€.  In reality, she doesnā€™t need one.
But, her big sister is almost 16 and, she really is at the age where girls start wanting to wear something similar to a bra.  In reality, we were looking for a cami or dance type top that is longer and can be worn with a lot of different types of clothes.

So, Iā€™ve been in search of something that would satisfy her wants along with something pretty and my need of something that didnā€™t break the bank and not make her look like sheā€™s trying to be 16.
Similar types of ready to wear start at about $9.  In reality though, they donā€™t have that much fabric on them so it seems silly to spend that much when I can pull the right size of fabric out of my scrap bin.

When I saw the Bree by Made for Mermaids, I knew Miss. Thang and the Bree were a match made in Heaven!

The Bree is drafted as a Cami, Crop or Tank.  I love that I can choose the sizing and mash them together to make a size that just fits her.  She is a size 5 in width because sheā€™s a tiny little thing, but needs an 7 or 8 in length.  In her Bree Crop I made a 7 in length and it was perfect.

I already had the lace on hand as Iā€™ve been hoarding gathering to make some other Made for Mermaid patterns.  So, I used a little bit of that lace for the racerback of her crop top.  And, I literally pulled scraps that were big enough out of my scrap bin.  The fabric I chose is a great Athletic Brushed Poly.

The Bree is so quick to make that the day we went to take pictures I made not only her Bree, but was also able to make a Stella and a pair of Lexiā€™s.  All three go so great together!  It helps they are all part of Lounge and Lace collection (which you should seriously consider purchasing if you havenā€™t yet!  They are AMAZING!)

Her favorite part of the Bree is just how comfortable it is.  She has requested as many more as Iā€™m willing to make her!

My favorite part is that it covers a lot more than the typical bralette, sports bras and dance tops.  It doesnā€™t have have spaghetti straps which makes it fun because itā€™s different.

Not only is the Bree kid approved, it has mom and dadā€™s stamp of approval as well.
