I sew and test patterns A LOT, and so when I have a chance to sew something that's "for fun" I have a few go to designers and patterns.

This last week as I was thinking about what I wanted to sew Pickle Toes Petra Taylor Ladies Tee kept peeking my interest.  I love Pickle Toes for my boys and youngest daughter, but I haven't sewn a lot of their adult clothing.  I had intentions of sewing all of the "adult" sized people in my house something new.  But of course life and illness got in the way.

So, Miss. Opinionated Teen got to pick the fabrics I’ve been collecting (It’s not a bad thing if you call it a collection.  Hoarding is bad, collecting is acceptable.  Lol!)  And I sewed away.

I love the different lengths of the Petra Taylor Tee.  Originally I wanted to do a dress for her, but the panel she chose wasn’t long enough; so I made a tunic length instead.  There are also five different options for sleeve length; Cap, short, elbow, ¾ and long sleeve.  For this top, I chose to do the cap sleeve.  It also comes with so many more options, hood, color blocked stripes, thumb hole cuffs, curved hem, hem band and arm warmers!  I didn’t make any of those options this time.  It’s WAY too hot already for long sleeves and hoods.

The Petra Taylor tee is designed to be a fit ‘n flare style which means it’s flattering to the majority of silhouettes and hangs so nicely.

For this go around because I was using a panel, I didn’t do the color blocking so it was really quick to cut out and even quicker to sew.  The longest part was measuring and clipping the hems, and truthfully that didn’t take long at all.

One of the things I love the very most about a pattern is it’s versatility.  I have a lot of patterns, but there are always those that I come back to when I need to make something quick and looks nice.  The Ladies Petra Taylor Tee is very much that pattern!

You can buy the pattern here:

And, the fabric is from Aurora Designs Fabric.  You can find them here.
